This painting represents the time I was suffering from chronic pain in my left foot. I had cut of the foot to represent the feeling to just get rid of it . The colourful flowers symbolise all the fun and beautiful things life has to offer. But the glass in between the flower cuts me. This symbolises that no matter how fun and beautiful life is, it felt like glass was constantly cutting me. The flower on the left side represents a funeral. This painting was part of a group exhibition with fellow students of which the recurring themes was grief, in my case the grief of losing the function in a body part.
